REACT WORLD?

I absolutely adore what they've done with the react series, I'm a big fan of them, but this react world thing has gone way too far. You could have your video taken down just cause it has the word REACT in the title. This has happened before as a certain youtuber's video was taken down just cause it had the words 'people are awesome' in the title. Another guy had some videos taken down AS THEY WERE SCHEDULED! I seriously fear for Youtube right now with where it's going. It's just becoming a big hive of people only caring about money, and not the passion of actually making videos.
 
Remember when they said they wouldn't do exactly this? Guess they flat out lied.

This is a very sad day in the YouTube world if you ask me - the copyright claiming system has been broken for so long, and it's only going to get worse.

This move by the Fine Bros is probably one of the grossest I've seen yet. Not because it's not smart business, it absolutely is... but because it goes against the very spirit on which they've made their careers on. Reacting to things that aren't theirs - old people reacting to viral videos, kids reacting to old video games... it's all been based on content that is 'not theirs'. BUT that should be allowed - it's fair use, you've turned something into something completely different. Now they are starting to shut down 'react' channels for using their word? It's sheer nonsense and a very, very sad day for YouTube as a whole.

so yeah, you remember those try not to laugh videos that have been on youtube since the beginning and on tv years before? they own that concept apparently.

too bad, the fine bros can now legally remove your video from youtube and strike your channel for is being similar to their 'super original idea'

they even trademarked the word REACT, how can you even do that?

That is honestly disgusting. I mean, it's their right to trademark their show regardless of the media it's shown on I suppose, just like The Voice and traditional TV shows trademark their titles. It's become a big brand so even though it goes against every single unwritten rule about not pulling this s**t on the free internet, I guess I'll give em that.

But what disgusts me more than anything is them trying to actually patent or trademark or 'own' the mere concept of having a certain age group respond to a random video or object. I can not for the life of me imagine a simple concept like that would even hold up as a 'format' in any sort of court, but they are abusing the high probability that no-one will call their bluff on this s**t.

I hope they crash and burn as the example of what happens when you try to screw over the internet, but with 14m subs and the law on their side, these filthy bastards will probably get away with it too. It's so ironic that the age old Jewish stereotype is being confirmed yet again.
