Rant! I want Final Cut X!!

CoolMoo5

I Love YTtalk
So I was complaining about this to my brother but he doesn't care or understand, so I thought why not post it on yttalk. Here I go. . . whether you like it or not here is my rant. I wish I had Final Cut Pro. I currently have a Dell Laptop and that has Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and Windows Movie Maker on it. But I have taken video classes in high school for three years and used Final Cut 7. And in college I used Final Cut X. But I'm not a video major so I can't take anymore videos classes. But I really wish I had Final Cut Pro. However, I would need to buy a macbook and final cut so it would be at least $1500. But being a broke college student, I only have like $2000 in my bank account and I don't want to spend most of it on one purchase. Adobe Premiere Elements is fine and all. In fact, I would recommend to any beginning YouTuber it only costs like $60 for mac and pc and has more features then movie maker. I am not an expert on Final Cut by any means, by I know it pretty well. Adobe elements, on the other hand, I know the basics but I still know how to use it. But I get kind of jealous of all those people out there that have Final Cut and don't even know how to use it. If you are one of those people please don't take offense. I just wish I knew how to edit my video, it would be done by now.

I'm editing a video right now and getting frustrated and ahhhhh!!! I want Final Cut X!!

Also, don't this thread too seriously. I just wanted to get this off my chest.

But do you honestly need that? I mean looking at your channel I can't really find any reason or need for a top-end editing software. I guess Elements and the way you're using it is not really maxing out the capabilities of that software, so why the need for anything else?

You took time to learn one editing program, since you don't have that resource anymore you may as well take the time to learn a new program.
It'll take a while, but it's better than spending a ton of cash on something that isn't a necessity.

Actually I'm starting a new channel that will have good content. CoolMoo5 is my channel for "mediocre" content. And it is not so much the features it is more the fact that I know how to use Final Cut and I don't know how to use elements and so it is taking me a long time to edit the video that's all. Like I said this thread isn't meant to be taken seriously, and I don't "need" Final Cut, it would just be cool to have.[DOUBLEPOST=1412910520,1412910359][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes that is true. I mean if I really wanted to I could byt Final Cut it would just take all my money and then I would have two computers. I already have a windows laptop that works perfectly. This is just a rant of me being annoyed at the moment, that's all.

Yep, after using windows computers for years, I got final cut and a mac a few years ago and it has been wonderful. What is better is that there have been a million updates since, and it's all been free witch is a nice change from the yearly paid upgrade cycle that most other video editors have.

It's complete understandable, just figured I'd give my take on the whole rant to you n_n

search the evil pirate part of the interwebs i got my final cut pro x for free ^_^

Yeah but two things:
1. I don't want pirate, I don't think its right.
2. I have windows computer and Final Cut is only for Mac so even if I could find a version online it wouldn't work correctly or exactly the same way.

No! Don't get Final Cut Pro X. No one uses it professionally.

If you want to get crazy good at an editing software go towards Final Cut 7 or Adobe Premiere (Gone Girl was cut entirely on Premiere). Those two are the industry standard.

Final Cut Pro X is more close to iMovie than an actual pro editing program.[DOUBLEPOST=1413326623,1413326504][/DOUBLEPOST]Orrrrr...get an out of date version of Sony HD movie studio. They are around 50 bucks since they aren't the latest version and are basically just like Sony Vegas but are missing a few features. It's what I bought when I wanted my first upgrade from Windows Movie Maker-- because let's be honest, Windows Movie Maker is abysmal.

I know that. And actually I have used Final Cut 7 for a few years in high school. The reason I want Final Cut X (or Final Cut 7) is because I already know how to use it. I have adobe premiere elements 12 which cost me $60. Once, I figure out how to use elements, I'll be fine. I just made this post because if I had Final Cut I would have been done with my video earlier and it would have taken less time. That's all.

And Windows Movie Maker is okay if all you want to do is cut footage and maybe add some simple text overlays, titles and transitions. But honestly, I think the older version, before live movie maker is better. If you are just getting started on YouTube it might not make sense to spend money on software, especially if you don't if you like making videos.
