Rant about entitled amateurs... -_-

We collab when it looks like it would be fun and/or interesting. I don't think I've even looked at the sub counts of the people I've collabbed with.

Yeah collaborations just for subs ain't my thing. I'd rather collab with a channel that makes similar content to what I make. I also have to genuinely like that person and their content. I won't collab just for subs. I look at collaboration like this: two minds are better than one. Especially if they have similar thoughts and interests in mind. So with that other person I would have to feel like if we made a video together it would be kickass. I don't want to have to calculate and think well how am I going to make this collaboration work? I want it to be natural where we are bouncing Ideas off of each other and working really good together behind the scenes and with me I take my time with smoothing and mulling over concepts and writing so I guess I'm not an easy person to collab with. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to work and school and certain things have to be a certain way with me. Everything else, meh.

Anyway. Why waste time trying to work with someone when you don't really get along or have anything in common and you are just doing it to expand you're audience? I saw that with SkyDoesMinecraft and Onision this past week on Twitter. Sky is the biggest Minecraft guy on YouTube and Onision basically called out the MC community in some really disparaging tweets before what was revealed by Sky a Collaboration between the two. They had some back and forth but what I saw just wasn't an argument it was a break down in communication. Why would Sky want to collab with a guy like Onision? They don't see eye to eye and were having it out on a very public forum so its obvious they don't like each other (well a lot of people don't like Onision for many good reasons LOL). I guess Sky was a fan of Onision but according to the way their argument went they didn't really even want to collab in the first place. It was just for sub sake.

I think it's ok so long as the collab remains win-win for both parties. So the person with less subs and wanting to collab with a bigger channel needs to be bringing a lot more to the table in other ways, example writing the scripts, doing the editing/captions/marketing or whatever.

But yeah, if it's someone who's only prepared to do half the work or less but will only work with bigger channels, then yeah that's just taking the p**s / leeching.

Remember that woman who banged another guy then started complaining that her boyfriend was being out of order over it XD now them threads were funny
OMG. :D We turned that thread into a Toy Story fanfic. That may just be my favorite thread of all time. XD

Ah... I agree with Crowndrew. It should be jointly beneficial. However, there is definitely no reason for someone with 50 subs to be putting a cap on who they work with. That's just being kinda jerk-ish. They could be missing out on some potentially classic videos. You never really know, you know?

I collaborate with ANYONE that I think has potential and just unfortunately didn't get as lucky as I've been in the past. Or someone who I think wants it bad enough, enough to fly down to me and do a video or something with me. If someone is good enough or wants it bad enough help's me make an awesome video... I would be stoked, and obviously give him the recognition I can. In the end, the video is better because he is there and I get a better video out on my channel which helps me, and also helps him.

I myself have been grateful enough for bigger youtubers to give me a chance, so I treat others how I would like to be treated. Live life to have fun, and meet ton's of people in the process, thats how I do it at least.
