Im not very good with understanding monetization and understanding it.

What i understand though is you get a certain earning every 1000 views, am i correct? Also, is this meaning 1000 views each video or 1000 overall video views?

On YouTube, CPM is usually referred to as 1,000 monetized views and it's before Google's cut, etc. RPM would be the amount you actually receive after all the cuts per 1,000 monetized views.

Ok but is it per 1,000 views through each video or overall?

Not each video, you can get earnings with 200 views video. CPM is not constant and it's per 1000 monetized views, you can get 4000 views but only 1000 of them are monetized.

Example:
Video #1
views: 4000
monetized playbacks (views): 1000
CPM: 9$
RPM: 4$

Your earnings: 4$ of this 4000 views video (only 1000 monetized)
If the video was 400 views with 100 monetized views - earnings: 0.4$

No need to be confused, it is very straightforward. You get paid per monetized views (not all views are monetized, because of ad-blockers, people skipping ads, etc.). Every monetized view counts across all videos. The 1000 views thing (RPM, or revenue per mille, mille means thousand) is just there to make it easier to quantify the money you receive.

Or, to make it even simpler: any video gets a monetized view, you get paid for that monetized view. What you get paid per 1000 views is your RPM. Your RPM is determined by things like type of ad served, location of the viewer, and a couple of other factors. Full stop.

Definitely bookmarking this. Well understood. Will use it for a reference in the future.
