Question to Nintendo Gamers, can't seem to find a straight answer...

A couple of nerds. A nerd couple, if you will.
Hey everyone!

Sorry if this has probably been asked dozens of times, but I just wanted to double check something regarding Nintendo Gameplay for YouTube...

So, from what I can tell from searching...can I upload gameplay from a Nintendo game and just choose NOT to monetize? I just want to be able to share some gameplay on our gaming channel from some of our newer WiiU games on our gaming channel, but don't really care at this point for monetizing them.

If I do this, I don't mind if Nintendo takes all the ad money from those videos, I just don't want it affecting the other gameplay we have. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks guys![DOUBLEPOST=1445371122,1445289652][/DOUBLEPOST]Bumping I guess. If I put this in the wrong thread, sorry about that. Just trying to get some perspective.

I think that Nintendo would still claim it (and ads would appear for them) but you have to make sure that you do allowable games.

They will most likely claim the video to get the revenue you make from that video, but if you wish to get some money out of it you can always join their program and when they claim your video you add that video to their program and you will gain share revenue that's what I do.

@TommyTLG does a lot of nintendo games and he has just gotten claim if I am not mistaken .... Tommy appear!!!

Yeah.
On some/most of my Nintendo videos I get claims if YouTube recognize the soundtrack.

I have never gotten any copyright strikes or anything, just third party claims, which gives Nintendo all of the ad-revenue.

Okay, so if I just upload a Nintendo gameplay and then choose to monetize my OTHER videos in the future (ie Gears of War, Civ V etc), the ad rev for the Nintendo videos would just go to Nintendo, but the other ones would be safe? (provided of course if the ever publishers are okay with Let's Plays).

You can monetize, but you can't have the music audio from the game in the video.

Having Nintendo videos that aren't monetized shouldn't have any effect on non-Nintendo videos that you choose to monetize.
So you can monetize, for example, Minecraft videos, while still having Nintendo videos on your channel that you don't monetize.

At this point, you may as well register your individual videos (not the whole channel) with the Nintendo Creators program.

You can avoid monetization, but they'll put ads on the videos anyways. So you may as well take a cut, small though it may be. You won't get the added benefit of higher viewer retention by not showing ads.

See, I read that and saw the section where it said:
If I registered a channel, will all of the videos in that channel be included in the Nintendo Creators Program?
Their response: Yes, all videos in the channel will be included in the program. Please keep this in mind if your channel contains videos that do not include Nintendo intellectual property.

What they're talking about is one of the two ways you can monetize with Nintendo content. You can either register individual videos, or sign your entire channel up. If you sign up the whole channel though, you of course can only upload Nintendo content because otherwise they would be claiming revenue on competitor products.
