Question on Thumbnail Size

Hey! So I have a really quick question about thumbnail size. I know that it is highly recommended that custom thumbnails be uploaded at "1280x720" but I was curious if a thumbnail that is "640x360" would work as well? That's half the size of the regular one.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Love y'all! :D

Not quite sure man :) why would you want to upload a thumbnail 640x360 anyways? :) I think youtube would just stretch out to make it 1280x720 but the the picture would look all blurred/fuzzy

1280x720 is always the best. I used to do 480x360 or whatever and it sometimes wouldn't even take up the full screen.

Oh because the image I want to use would look all jacked up if it was stretched. That makes sense that they would stretch it anyways thus hindering the quality. Thanks mate :)[DOUBLEPOST=1392394690,1392394666][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yikes...well we don't want that now do we :l

640x360 is fine, even if YouTube increases it to 1280x720 (640x360 is half 1280x720 :P ) it's still maintaining an aspect ratio so it won't look stretched. I upload all mine in 1280x720 because it gives me more room to edit them. :) The thumbnails are very small on YouTube anyway.

Ahhh okay. Well, that makes sense. Thank you very much for the reply! :)

I have my own Thumbnail shop on these forums, and I can assure you for maximum results, quality, and effectiveness, go with 1280 by 720. ;)
