I've been curious about learning how to do that type of background myself. Only way I can think of doing it, is make a circle that's larger than the square, then cutting out parts of it with a line tool. :S
okay so to do this style first create a new page on Photoshop, then make a gradient as the background. once thats done go to the top click filter then distort then wave. Change the Number of generators to whatever you want, then wavelength to anything as long as both numbers (min and max) are close to each other e.g 49 and 50. Next on amplitude set these to as high as they will go aswell as the scale then click okay. Next click again on filter then distort then polar coordinates then okay, and there you go!
