To elaborate. On my first video, i used royalty free music, but took it off monetization, because the site was a hot mess. SO, for my 2nd video a close friend of mine made me some custom music to use. I got the ! and proceeded to show them a contractual agreement between me and my friend, and also skype conversation screen shots as proof that I had permission. They very quickly accepted my appeal and monetized my video! I was very happy.

Today, I uploaded a new video using THE SAME SONG! And I was flagged with the ! again.....
In the contract it explicitly states that I can use that song, and any other by him forever (just in more fancy contract terms). I credited him in the final scene of the video along with full credits and links to his page in the description...and yet...I'm going through the same thing.

Is this an ongoing thing? Will they flag every video, and will I need to send them the same contract over and over again, even if im using the exact same song in every video?

I'm a little frustrated, if you can't tell, but then... I don't know if this is normal..but I figure it wouldnt be...

Thanks in advance for your help!

As far as I am aware, it is normal. I use Kevin McLeod music on my videos and I have to send the creative licence agreement every time. Hope this helps. It is annoying, but with the amount of videos being uploaded every day it must be hard for YouTube to keep track of every users agreements.

What I found to help is in the description of your video.. Put all the information such as the artist and all those things.. and that you have permission.. it happened to me a few times but once I put the information in the Description it stopped.

Its all in there...so i wonder what they're playing at..

sometimes its normal, because they dont knw if you permission to use it or not. i knw that u said that you send screen shot and conversation but that was for the first video, so if you upload another video with the same music they re not gonna take the time to check on the previous documentation.. so yeah.. like someone here said. just put all the info in the description and if you have a link to redirect them to the conversation or screenshots that will be better because in that case they will just go check that and thatll be all.. sometimes just to give credit to that person wont help but conversqtion or screenshot it will..

Thanks. I understand what you're saying completely. Only probably with that would be tha I would be putting my friends private information out there. I doubt he would be very happy with me airing our personal skype conversation to anyone who looks.

And hmm, starting to think I should check out networks.
