[Question/Help] How old is too old to start a youtube channel?

I am coming up onto 20yo in a few months and I see many gaming channels with tons of popularity currently around my age with most new popular YouTubers being 16-22 age (who do gaming content). Most started when they were young where I don't have that luxury. As youtube is a significate time investment as I feel we can all agree I have always been interested in gaming and thought I should make channel out of it.

I figure I am just worried I will invest 4+ years and become 24 year old and really have minimal improvement compared to youtubers who are in 16-21 year old range who have major growth due to their head start from years ago. Most of YouTubers I subscribed to and inspire to have been on youtube for 5+ years. I am pretty smart, artistic and really love data youtube provides that I learn from to make my videos better and such and really driven, unlike most new youtubers who give up at 10 subs. I do not doubt my ability to do well in a sense of producing content but fact of my age and how people may perceive a 25 year old gamer I'm unsure of.

So really my questions are

1.Is trying to start a gaming channel at 20 year old bad idea because of my age due to how old I will be before things start to get take off?
2. Are youtube channels growing faster or slower in recent years? Would now be a good time to create a channel or is it a really bad time to go about creating a gaming channel?

If anyone need to ask for clarification on something I be happy to answer.

Nah man go for it. You're not too old. As long as youve still got a good sense of humor, or creativity, or whatever it that you use to attract viewers, people will watch.

Seems like the youtube gaming industry is growing fast as ever.

But yeah, really, no age is too old. I was thinking about livestreaming my funeral actually.

I don't think ur ever too old or too young. You will just have a different audience depending on ur age
Which is another worry there is not too much of an audience as when people get older they start to work and spend less time on youtube and maybe not even game at all which would put me at a disadvantage I think. I believe why younger youtubers do so well as they appeal to people who can watch content all day long being (kids) who dont have to worry about jobs and stuff. Kids bring in lot views to channels due to how much content they can watch.

Dude, PewDiePiew is almost 26, Tobuscus is 30, and Danny from Game Grumps is 35. At first I thought being 29 (myself), would be too old to still be doing anything like this, but it's completely fine! Good luck with everything!

I understand what you mean about growing out of gaming or having more responsibilities as you get older but as long as you are happy doing what you are doing then it shouldnt matter. Also its not like you need to tell people/subs how old you are!

It's never to late to try. Give yourself enough time to see just how passionate you really are about YouTubing and go from there.
