Question: Do and Don't When Promoting Channel

I knew some "do and don't" for this thing, but to make sure that i have enough information, i want to ask you what a "do and don't" when you promoting a channel?

Or

What do you most hate when people promoting their channel? Is there any particular reason why you hate people do that?
 
Don't: Spam, beg, be a noob about it, or lie.

Do: Make sure that your content is good and be respectful about it.
 
DO:
use social networking

meet similar YouTubers and grow your contacts to make a social web if you will and get your name out there

be consistent

DONT:
SPAM
Inbox people your videos

Sub4Sub

Beg people to watch

Ask people to watch your stuff without returning the same favor -- promotion is a two way street.

No problem! :D

If you are going around checking out people's content, they are far more likely to return the favor. This is not Sub4Sub because it does not guarantee that you get the sub, that is based on your content's quality, topic / niche, and the viewer's taste, but getting more activity should equate to more potential subscribers, which might mean a few actual subscribers :D
 
I expect any business/organization to advertise their product/channel and it doesn't bother me one bit, most of the time.
I have a huge hate on for anything automated, as long as you spend your time (and not a computers) without using caps or coloured letters then i'm cool with whatever you can come up with, personally :)
