Question about Suggested Videos

I'm sure this was asked before but couldn't find any recent postings about it. How does Youtube determine what videos are Suggested Videos?

I'm asking because 30 percent of my traffic source comes from Suggested Videos. I guess that's a good thing?
 
Oh, I don't know how to check that!

If you're views are coming through suggested videos that means that your videos are being seen from other videos, so yeah that's good! It means more people that don't already know your channel are finding it.. and your videos are linking to other peoples videos?
 
Depends... Views through suggested videos from your own channel is good.
Views through suggested videos from other channels is awesome!!!!
 
Had my latest video show up in a playlist and it said "my playlist" though I never made a playlist. Is this something generated by youtube?
 
It should be good, but I have no experience in how to gain exposure. All I know is that you make a good video, one of your subscribers adds it to their playlist, and others search... That's how you grow :/

"..for whatever reason..."??!? Because it's AWESOME! What other video has puppets with 12 year old sense of humor and guitars with crushing distortion??? None. That's how many. None! :D
 
That's definitely good. ^^ But try clicking on the suggested videos link and see where they come from? Like most of my suggested video sources were from my own videos. If you have a lot from both your own and from others that would be the best X3
