Question about Sony Vegas

Hello there,
Just a question on Sony Vegas:

I am currently using VirtualDub to edit my videos, because it allows me to control the speed limit the program is allowed to use to render videos. I always put it to the lowest so that my CPU doesn't get toasted.

Now, is there the same kind of option on Sony Vegas? Like an option allowing me to put a maximum speed limit the program is allowed to render videos?

I've been using Vegas for a while now and as far as I'm aware, it does not have anything like that. The codec you choose will naturally affect render times but it will do whatever is most effective for the fastest possible render on that codec.
 
All you need to do is keep your Computer cool enough not to overheat. If you are using a laptop, consider buying a cooler mat that has a couple fans. If you have a desktop, open up the case, use an airduster to get dust off the boards and possible keep the case opened. Or buy a fan to add onto the CPU to keep it cool. Stock fans do not perform very well.

Also, there is no option on Sony Vegas to allow you to say (This video needs to be rendered in 5 minutes time, no longer). You can decrease quality and change codecs, but that's about it.
