Okay, so in my latest video which was my top 5 hopes for the new pokemon games, someone made this comment: "I do like character customisation in X and Y but I don't want it in any remakes because some people are used to the original way the trainers looked and don't like them to have changed hair and skin colour." I feel like this is probably the dumbest argument ever, and I really want to express why that is so completely wrong. The problem is, that person is one of my most loyal subscribers, and I don't want to upset him. My argument is simple: If you don't want to customize your character you don't have to. The default option is almost exactly the same as the original character. I am just torn between allowing terrible arguments fly and making sure this subscriber stays. What are your opinions on what I should do?

If you want, you could just ignore it and prevent any argument from happening. That, or you could have a respectful debate with him/her while not being too rude.

Hire someone to yell at him in your place.

Or you could, you know...just pretend that comment doesn't exist and just move on.

If I were to say something it would just be something like this: "You don't have to customize your character if you don't want to, but depriving others of the option seems like a bit much." I'm not that great at predicting how others will react, but I wouldn't think that would cause a problem. However, I actually try to think before making an argument for or against something.

You just have to always be very careful how you talk to subs I think. You can say anything really, but it's good to do it in a very... almost business like way. You know how when you're talking to an employee for a good company they will have a conversation but be unusually polite and complimentary etc, just be like that.

"Thanks for the comment! While I respect your opinion I see it a little differently, I enjoy the customization and feel it's nice to have the option even if you don't use it, but thanks for telling me your thoughts! See ya next time!" something like that I guess.

Or you can not give a flip it's whatevs lol

Dude, I think the best thing to do is debate your reason and he will debate his back. Perhaps leave a little foot note saying *I still think you're awesome dude* or something like that ;D

Right, just keep saying things that make it obvious you do not think HE is dumb or look down on him, and you can debate all day long with your subs.

It just depends on how you assert your argument. "If you don't want to customize your character you don't have to. The default option is almost exactly the same as the original character." can be changed to " Atleast if you don't want to customize your character you don't have to. The default option is almost exactly the same as the original character." The simple use of one word makes you sound sooooo much nicer and less like you want an argument.

Just remember, everyone has an opinion, and like you want yours respected, you must respect others even if it conflicts with yours.

I think symphonious7 had the best idea of how to respond. It keeps things civil while engaging in conversation.
