Question about Daily Vlog: vlog with a specific topic or vlog whatever?

I am thinking of doing a daily vlog but I am not sure if each vlog should have a specific topic or just vlog whatever (like the highlights of the day or something).

I have seen some channels with daily vlog and the YouTuber is pretty casual and pretty much talks about anything. I like that style because it makes you feel more closer to the person that is vlogging. But at the same I also like people who does vlog (but not daily) where each video has a specific topic that is being discussed.

What would you suggest?
 
Having a niche is good. And it's much easier to do on a daily basis if you have enough material to talk about.

Daily casual vlogs are much harder. Can you name some vloggers who do it daily and are really successful at it?
 
I think the main thing is having a reason to turn the camera on. There are some wonderful vloggers out there, but there are also a whole lot that just ramble on about nothing and it's not very interesting. Even when bigger youtubers do it on their second channel, it can sometimes be really boring. And daily vlogging is a huge commitment. I have seen a few who start strong, only to miss weeks of videos and then every video they make is them apologizing for not making videos and asking for video ideas because they have none.

But, all that said, if you commit to having quality content and working on your channel to make sure you meet your posting expectations, then great! Personally I prefer vlogs with a topic, but that includes any vlogs with a point I guess? Like, it starts out as a funny story about something that happened, but in the end there's a point to it and I see that as the topic of the video. Or there's the fully scripted ones about a set topic, which I also enjoy. It's up to you though. Whatever you feel is going to be something you can commit to and deliver well.

I made daily vlogs, but I am doing it as a way to document my life. So I vlog about anything that happened during my day. If I want to talk about a certain topic, I go ahead and just put it in my daily vlog.
