Putting your name in the title?

Hey guys! So I noticed a lot of big YouTubers that I follow (Tyler Oakley, Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig, etc) a lot of the times upload a video and then put their names in the title!
Like this for example
How To Make A Video || Grace Helbig

Does that help searches? I've been debating doing it with my videos but I'm unsure on why they do it to begin with. :)

If you put it in the title, description and tags it will help you rank for the search term. If you use your name you most likely will get indexed in Google and YouTube for it, the rarer your first and last name the higher chances of that too, John Smith for example would likely be drowned out easily but Herbert Foozlockerfet would get indexed rather high for searches of the exact name. The same applies on YTtalk, when members mention specific things it will likely get indexed, search for Herbert Foozlockerfet and I bet it comes up within a couple of days of me posting this :D

My Name is Herbert Foozlockerfet. What are you trying to say?

As for the topic, I am not 100% sure, I just put my channel name in the tags to get noticed. It works a lot. Just remember to shorten your name what other people would think example: ciarra, ciarra debritto, debritto, de,britto, etc etc..
 
From a search engine perspective, I bet it helps. Adding your name to tags helps too. I've read it helps your videos show up in the side bar while someone is watching another of your videos. And basically what @Michael said.
 
Well , as for me... I also add my name to my videos :p
According to me it just helps if you want to search a video by your name..it is mainly for categorising your videos and yea it also helps your videos show up in the side bar :D
 
On a slightly different note, I usually put a tag of channel name in the title, for example #NightMachines. So when people share or link to my videos, I can easily search for that tag on Google, Twitter, etc. to find who posted what. I also believe (and it's really just belief, not based on any hard facts) that this will keep my videos "together" in recommendations and searches, because they all share one thing on the title. YMMV
