Psychology behind 1k views

I get ya, I feel that too now that I think about it, I didn't pay much attention to smaller view counts back when I was a casual viewer

I had similar thoughts. When one of my videos reached over 1k views i noticed in my stats that it still gets more clicks per day that my others and that video was from forever ago. It doesnt have enough views to brag about but it still gives me that sense of accomplishment and pride.

My process of thought:
Thumbnail => Title => Like ratio (using a chrome plugin) => views.
If a video has millions of views but all I can see is a red bar underneath the thumbnail (because it was overwhelmingly disliked) then there's no point in watching it.
Interesting. What kind of ratio would turn you off to it? I have some videos that have lower like ratio, but it is because my videos ruin popular things and a lot of people don't like that thing ruined. At one point my most popular video had exactly 7,777 likes and 6,666 dislikes. Would that type of ratio turn you away from a video?

Just like people are more likely to subscribe to those with higher subscriber numbers there are people that will watch the higher viewed videos more than the ones with not a lot of views.

Yeah I tend search for a subject then pick based on thumbnail.
I only usually look at view count after the video is playing.

I don't mind a video being controversial, but if the dislikes are overwhelmingly greater than the like then I'd be like, meh.

I think the biggest thing for us is the initial impression the video gives off! Based on the thumbnail as well as the topic! It is very exciting though when a few of your videos get past 1000 views :)
