PS4 or XBOX ONE for YouTubing? Help meh! :)

Hey :)

I am a Gaming YouTuber and I am looking to upgrade console ready for new releases such as Advanced Warfare. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with deciding on which console I should upgrade to?!

A lot of the videos I like to make are based around the reactions I get in game chat online. But I have heard that recording game chat on the new consoles is a real hassle. So should I just stick with the 360 and get Advanced Warfare on that or would it be worth upgrading and going through the hassle of buying all the extra cables required to record what I want to record? :S

In your opinion... Which is the better console for a YouTuber such as myself? 360, Xbox One or PS4?

(P.S. I record with an Elgato HD)

Cheers :)

I don't know about the Xbox One but I record with a PS 4 and I like it in my opinion. Just double tap share on the controller and record up to 15 minutes, the you can edit it In The PS Share Factory and then upload it straight from your PS 4 to YouTube.

Both are good, they have practically the same hardware but for online games I would definitely record using Xbox One. I use the Xbox One, 360 & PC for all my recordings. However, the more platforms you use then the wider variety of people will be interested in your channel so try and use both here and there (Xbone & PS4) but also use phones/tablets/pcs/xbox's/ps'/nintendo's etc, whatever you can then give it a go, also people love Nintendo videos (3DS (2D) and the Wii U as people find them games very interesting :) Hope this helps[DOUBLEPOST=1414780240,1414780161][/DOUBLEPOST]However for you issue with recording game sound then to record to the elgato use a normal mic (preferably a desktop mic), plug headphones into your TV and use the Kinect mic for the game chat, hope this helps!

Moved to Video Editing, Recording, Software & Hardware since even if it is gaming related is going to be use for recording and youtube related :)

I can't give a definite answer because I just play on PS4. I do know that the PS4 records for 15 minutes at a time before the video saves and you have to remember to start recording again, and the Xbox One records for 5 minutes at a time. I don't know what the Xbox's streaming capabilities are, but PS4 lets you stream to Twitch or Ustream, and it has a video editor and can now upload straight to Youtube since the last update. I don't use the PS4 video editor because I think it lacks features that are important, so i copy my video files to a USB card (takes forever ... usually 1 to 3 hours for me), move the files to my laptop for editing (that only takes like 7 minutes to move the files to the computer), and then I upload to Youtube. If you stream to Ustream, you can have the website save your entire stream and just download it after you're done. That would probably be faster than trying to move the files with a USB, but I don't stream because I only have a 6.5 MB connection. Also, you might have a hard time finding a Playstation 4 Camera, or you'll overpay for it on Amazon.com ... no idea why, but they're still nowhere to be found in the stores. I don't use one ... still too self-conscious for face cam. lol

I use an Xbox One, that's cool that the PS4 can record for 15 minutes and yeh you're correct the One can record for 5 minutes. On the Xbox One since around launch you were able to stream to Twitch and upload to either YouTube or Xbox Upload, you can edit clips on the Xbox One using Xbox Upload studio. However to record my videos I use a HD Capture Card which works much better for commentaries and stuff :) Hope this helps

Hey guys thanks for the comments. I know that the consoles have built in recording capabilities but I will be using a HD capture card anyways so that doesn't matter. I'm just worried about the fact that I've heard that you can't record in-game chat on the new consoles. Recording the in-game chat & reactions is a big part of my videos so I'm not sure what to do.
