Promotion Sub-Reddit.

I would just like to point out that even though the subreddit is small in size, a reddit search will bring up the videos anyway.

I.E. if someone searches Titanfall a few minutes after you submitted your video, then your video should come up in new.

So I started up a sub-reddit today, simply because I noticed there's a few people in here who are iffy about sharing via Reddit. I've had nothing but good experiences with it so far, so I figured I'd open up a place where you can share them without the fear that it's in the wrong place and it's going to get massively disliked.

I've basically opened this up to all content creators, so it doesn't matter if you're a vlogger or a gamer, you can post your new videos here! Just add this after reddit(dot)com and you'll be right there :)

/r/videopromotion/

I'm hoping that it stays friendly, and I won't be tolerating any crap from trolls or haters here. So if you'd like an extra place to post your videos then go for it. :)

(If this is in the wrong place then it'd be awesome if someone could move it to the right thread :p )

Cheers guys,
Faptain.
r/youtubers already exists for the same reason, and for sharing information and such as well. However, I feel that subreddits like this are doomed to being flooded with content if there's no filter. This is why r/videos has the 9:1 ratio requirements to curb self-promotion.

I agree it will likely need a filter....or some ruleset. Bit hard to keep people self-promoting in moderation.

Reddit for me has been an okay experience. I've received a few views from there. I'll be sure to post to this subreddit whenever I can.

I think it i not even the flood that is the problem.
It will fall to the same category as other reddits, where people just drop their stuff and ignore rest of the people uploads.

So you end up in this position, where the only people who are there are people who post there, and they are only there to post.

This could very well happen, but at the end of the day as a YouTuber, a backlink is a backlink I guess for SEO purposes. I would hope the reddit feed would be willing to check other's out though too.
