Promoting with: Facebook, Twitter, Reddit?

Hey I wanted to ask you all if and how you promote your channel with the following websites:

Twitter: I made myself a twitter account for my channel but I never used twitter before so I´m kinda lost with it. I´m tweeting news about my upcoming videos and how far I am with them but I don´t really know if that´s enough. Any tips?

Facebook: I have a private facebook account but I´ve heard that many have one for their YT-channel. I don´t really know what I would do with one, does anybody here have experience with it?

Reddit: Now this is something I really have no idea about. I know its a site were people post things and it has many subreddits so that you can look for the right one to post in. Do you guys post your videos on reddit? I´ve heard it´s not a good idea when you´re still small cause they will only ignore you, what do you guys think about that?

I would say the biggest platform for YouTube channels outside of YouTube itself is Twitter. I've seen a massive decline in Facebook usage, so I would recommend Twitter. You can use Twitter to tweet videos, news about your channel, interact with subscribers and even gain new viewers by posting regularly. Out of them all, I'd go with Twitter.

Twitter is excellent if you use it as a social media site should be used. So don't just use it to advertise and promote, try and post about your life on there as well, make connections, etc.

As far as Reddit goes, it's really only helpful if you have a video about a specific topic. So I post some of my videos on there, but not all. For example, most of my videos are vlogs, and have no home on Reddit apart from a subreddit called r/NewTubers, but I just made a vlog about start the ketogenic diet. I posted it in r/keto and it's currently sitting at around 46 views while my others are sitting at around 20. I posted a "problems of being bilingual" video into r/Spanish and it's on about 190 views, so you really just need to figure out which of your videos are suitable for Reddit.
Also, avoid the big subreddits like the plague. If you make Minecraft let's plays, do not go within 50ft of r/Minecraft. Your best bet would be to search "minecraft let's play" and see what subreddits come up.

Hope this helps :)
