Promoting w/o social media?

I guess you can do other social media if you already have a hefty amount of viewers.. but I suggest to focus on making content.

Well many people asks this: social media or not social media? Personally I'm using twitter, tumblr and recently also google+. The problem is that youtubers that are big now started in a period where social media promoting wasn't so necessary but now I think that we should do a bit of self advertising, but be careful to not become a spammer because that will be a double edge sword! A method that can be used is the spread word: you can speak with a couple of friends, who will eventually speak with a couple of friends and so on (maybe you won't obtain the biggest success doing this but it's something!)

I would advise using social media like crazy man, everything helps when you're first starting out. It can be a very confronting thing sharing your stuff to your friends and family and I know them feels all too well. It's an excellent way to get out of your comfort zone though and show people who you really are. Eventually it will get less scary I promise you, you just gotta go through the initial burn from the fire

I mostly use Google+ and twitter to get my videos out. I think you have to do that to get an audience
