Promoting channels offline

To answer, no I've never personally done it but I know of people who have and some of the results are pretty, some aren't. So, it's really a luck of the draw kind of thing.

I have business cards that I ordered online that have a photo, my channel, twitter and email. They weren't expensive and now I always carry a bunch around because while I don't blindly drop them at coffee shops or bars or anything, Youtube often comes up in conversation when I meet people and it's a really easy way to direct them to my channel. Or if they just want my contact info, I can hand over a card and they may just check it out out of curiosity.
I've found cards really handy!

Hi guys, has anyone ever tried promoting your channels off the line :). That is not through facebook, twitter, reddit, youtube, whatever.

I was thinking of making business cards with links in them to give to friends, or put it in a coffee shop somewhere. Has anyone ever done this? Does it work?
Haha I was at the Hosptital today and had printed off a few Twitter links, I scattered them around a bit, including on a notice board thing haha :L

Put it on a piece of paper and tape it on the back of a bathroom door. Everyone's on their phones anyways so they will see it at least :)*

*Probably not a good idea, b/c people will relate your channel to the "thrown"

You know for the bathroom idea you can put a giant qr code... people on their phone, time to waste, large scannable qr code. Seems like a good idea
