Profile pic question

Hi there,

I've read that it's always a good idea to use your face in your youtube channel profile pic. I also think that is a good idea to do that when you are on camera and showing yourself in every video.

But what about my case where I'll be in some videos but not in the majority of them? Even though I'll always be the creator, it doesn't make sense to use my face as profile pic, right?

It up to you whether you want put your own face on the profile pic or not. Content is what matter most. Even famous You Tuber don't even put their own face on the profile pic. They sometimes put logo or pic that fan made for them.
 
It really up to you, some people don’t put their face in their profile and some do! As long as the picture has to do with your channel, I don’t think it matters too much.
 
I have never used my face in a profile pic - It would probably scare off the viewers!
 
I think it depends on the genre of content your channel is based around. A vlogger or makeup guru for example would probably use a photo of themself as the content is more about them. Whereas a Topic Presenter, gaming channel, or Reviewer could be better off with a well designed graphic.
