Procrastinating on Videos

Aaayron

Pokemaster in the making here people!
Yeah. I thought that could only happen to me with homework, but I guess it happens on Youtube as well.

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I tend to procrastinate on video making, since there are just lots of times where I don't feel like it, there're too many people in the house, or I just get downright lazy. The third one being the dominating reason above the rest.

I mean, yeah, I feel like I want to make a video, I have drive and confidence to make a video, my sheer laziness in video editing and commentary making just keeps getting in the way. And it's actually hurting my newly conceived schedule of one video every other day.

What's worse is that I have SO MUCH time for video making now since it's officially summer vacation here where I live and I can do whatever I want. I feel like I'm wasting so much time...:banghead:

Anybody have a remedy for this?

Yeah. I procrastinate making videos aswell. And I am surprised how people usually take under 4 hrs to edit the videos and it takes me two days.
It's all this other youtube videos that we want to watch that takes our time. We have to feed our addiction.

I do that all the god damn time. I usually get in the state of mind where I'm like "These people want to see your videos and they enjoy them, don't let them down!" and I get up and do something!

I've had moments though where I've had so many troubles recording that I've literally gone "f**k THIS!" and not made a video that day. It gets frustrating sometimes and you need a break honestly. :P

Just think to yourself

Did anyone get anywhere by acting like this
Probably. The world of Youtube is large. I see huge a** channels all the time with no thumbnails, no/crappy channel art, and 1 video every...2-3 weeks I guess?[DOUBLEPOST=1398602909,1398602673][/DOUBLEPOST]

I went through the exact same things you did with the recording problems too. Since I've switched from Vegas Pro to Camtasia though, everything's been going silky smooth. (Only problem is that the preview screen lags like hell)

Like I said, laziness is somewhat a part of my nature (I might never get a girlfriend) and that hinders my content creating. I spend most of my time making several thumbnails for my future videos (which made me discover so many new things about Photoshop by the way.)

I usually Procrastinate until there is absolutely no more time to procrastinate then to it all last minute, it's a really inefficient way to work. Not to mention so stressful. I however tend to have my best ideas under pressure. I still don't think it's worth the pressure!

Same here it's taken like 4 attempts to record something and I feel the same 'f**k IT' feeling but we haven't uploaded in a week and we'll lose peoples attention if we don't :L
