Premier Pro CC tutorials? Also Bandicam video/audio settings

Ok, so I have two queries and instead of wasting peoples times with two threads I figure I'll create one.

So I have been using Sony Vegas Pro 12 for a while now and have decided to upgrade myself to Adobe Premier Pro CC for the added effects and support and what not. My problem is that Premier (at least it feels like) has a bit of a learning curve while Vegas was pretty much very quick to pick up. My question to those who use Premier is thus: Where/how did you learn how to use it? I have been trying to figure out how to make one video image smaller for a few days now. I do Let's Play videos and such and have a face cam I put in the corner of the video and I can't figure out how to make my face cam footage smaller! Also wouldn't mind knowing some other neat tips to improve my video quality. What is the best settings for fluid 720p output?

And for Bandicam, I couldn't figure out how to use the footage on Vegas, but figured out that I needed to change the video settings, now I am stuck with editable video, but no sound actually gets recorded. I just want video game sound to record as I record commentary with Audiacity.

Any help would be appreciated.

Once you get started with premiere pro, I don't think it's difficult at all, and if you have experience with other Adobe products, user experience is very similar, not too tough to pick up.
To scale a video lower than another, switch to effects control tab, by default it's on the left top side, one of the tabs behind the source monitor. Under motion, use the position and scale, you can click and drag on the numbers to use it as slider or single click and type your number.

Settings I use for exporting is, H264, 1920x1080, 30 fps, Progressive VBR, 2 pass, target 6 mbps max 8mbps for video, AAC 320 kbps 48khz stereo for audio. You would want to reduce your target bitrate a bit for 720p, probably 4-6 kbps max. All my videos are done with these settings on my channel.

I don't have experience with Bandicam though. All my videos are done with OBS and/or my Nikon D5200 with kit lens and Premiere Pro & After Effects using the settings above.
 
The resize for a static video that won't alter during playback is even easier than FFG describes. Put the video in the timeline. Double click on it in the preview window (where you watch the video playback) and you'll get a selection box around the video which you can just resize and move around wherever you need it.

Adobe also has export presets. File -> Export -> Media is how you render your composition. Under format choose h.264, and then scroll down the preset list to the YouTube options. Pick 720p, rename your file and you're done.
 
Good tip Tarmack, actually I never noticed that part about resizing. Effect controls are good for my OCD for sure though, to make sure everything is aligned pixel perfect.
 
Thanks guys! I've had this project setup on Premier for a week now (basically just two video timelines and their respected audio) and I have been tinkering around, Google searching for tutorials, and still nothing has come up helpful to what I specifically need. Glad I didn't just drop Vegas completely or I'd have no new videos to upload.
