Power cut made our video late!

There was a big storm last night that led to a power cut in the area. Unfortunately for me, I had just about completely discharged my laptop computer a few hours earlier and hadn't plugged it back in. Talk about bad timing!

I had a completed video on the computer, but hadn't uploaded it to YouTube yet, so when the power was still out this morning, I gave up and had to drive out to a location that had power just to plug in and upload my video!

That's the last time I let that happen, I'm getting some kind of a power backup supply for my computer so I don't get stuck like that again.

Has anyone ever missed a deadline due to power outages? I guess it could have been worse. If it happened on one of our weekend video recording days, it would be really hard to get that lost time back!
 
Thankfully I have never missed a deadline because of them but I have been left off of YTtalk for a good several hours and that is equally as terrible haha joking of course but when the power goes out and you are used to having internet access for everything work and play you get twitchy :D
 
I use scheduled option on youtube and upload 1 week or at least several days before video is supposed to come out to avoid any unnecessary problems :)
 
It is very weird when power goes out, you get out the candles and just sit on boredum for however long.. unless your laptop is charged you can play some Football Manager :P
 
Man, I love not having deadlines... Whenever do I set them for myself I end up loosing sleep or missing it entirely. Both are bad... The only deadline I set now is my Cars and Coffee video. I aim to have it up by next day. I spend the better part of my weekend editing that...
