Possible Solutions...?

Ok...so for the last 3 days I've been seriously thinking about this topic as I go over recording and editing for my videos... I'm not sure what could be the major cause of it other then maybe the fact my computer sucks (explicit deleted word), but I'm kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place...make that a diamond encrusted razor and a really really big cheese grader. I noticed that whenever I go to record a video not only does my computer tend to freeze up alittle her and there and slow down completely, but my FPS for both recording and my game fps drop below my normal rates...

I've never really had this issue prior to a few weeks ago when I tried to record... the problem seems to persist. I can't run facecam and recording like I was able to before without the troubles I'm having now... granted there were always troubles in the past, but nothing I couldn't handle with closing down all my internet pages and other extras besides logitech webcam. bandicam and the game I was playing... I even went back to play a game that I did before and I couldn't even move with all of the things running ( tried slendytubbies... )

Anyone got any suggestions?

I've already done some of the basics including:
shutting off some start up programs
shutting off defrag scheduling
disk clean up
visuals to bare bones(looks like I'm back running windows 97 or something nightmarish)
updating all drivers
eating tuna sandwiches
enabling my sata hdd for preformance
enabling my pc for high preformance settings

All the things I could find on google to help boost possible preformances, but if anyone has any other ideas...please let me know...

I feel the only thing I can possibly do that would ultimately cure it all, since I don't have the money or a job to go get a new pc or continue building my gaming rig for now, would be to reformat and start over...

More RAM?

Running 4GB with a 32-bit system... thats the allotted amount my pc will let itself use....

what are you pc specs.
At least post your CPU, GPU, RAM type, and SSD or HDD. I know there are many more factors, but as a bare minimum this is what we need to know.

I'm running it barebones right now on visuals so thats one thing I have seen an improvement with( just played IB and MDBJ both are 2d games and my fps compared to yesterday was better...)

keep in mind this pc is no where near the best for gaming but I have never had an issue before like I said above.
(speccy and my pc are slow due to a video rendering)

CPU: intel pentium dual cpu e2160 1.80 1.80
Ram:4GB dual channel DDR2 @ 399 6-6-6-18 (3.12 usable)
System type: 32 bit OS (vista... gross I know)
HDD (1): Compaq Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 360GB
HDD(2): Toshiba Canvio HD 500GB
GPU: GeForce GT 430 1GB onboard
MB: MSI Boston (Socket 775)

Still got speccy up if you need more info...

If it's just been happening recently, do a virus scan, because it sounds like it's slowing everything down. If it's not that, uninstall whatever you can.

Also, you should go into your task manager and end any unnecessary processes/programs that may be running in the background.

I've worked IT for a little while, I have seen this stuff before

I am running 56 processors without a webpage or anything on my task bar running, thats just standard without shutting of something that will mess with my pc, I did do a virus/malware scan earlier and it got nothing but trackers....
