Podcast Set-up

Hey guys, I'm looking to start a podcast in the next few weeks. I have the following:

Laptop
Yeti Microphone
Audacity - (recording software)

I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions, like should I use a different mic(s)? Is there a better software to use for recording?

My plan is to use the yeti mic as a single input, set around the group and just record then barely edit anything out unless it needs to be cut...

Would I be better off investing in multiple mics? and if so how would I record each of them to their own channel?

Also, I'm using audacity because I've used it for years, but never to do anything like this. Is there better free software? or I also have access to Adobe CC through school, so is there an effective Adobe app that I could use to record?

Any and all help is appreciated!

how many people will there be? depending on that theres obviously settings on the yetti that work for two people or a room full, id say give it a try first and see what it sounds like, problem with multiple mics is you then need to put SERIOUS money in for quality mics for every person lol and then you need to have a whole audio set up with a great big soundmixer and all that it can get expensive and complicated lol

I'm thinking a max of 4 people, usually 3 sitting around a table!

That's what I was thinking, this is something I wanted to do mainly for fun and not a ton of technical commitment hahaha

yeah go with the yetti then, just be careful where you record, Im guessing you've used it before but it picks up every little sound even ones in other rooms haha and try to find a small or non echoey room or that'll be picked up too.

That's what I was thinking! any idea on how to reduce echo?

lots of soundproofing lol like i say try to find a fairly small room if you can, maybe hang a duvet or two on the walls, usually if the room is small and is filled with stuff its not that likely to sound too echoey
