PlayList Live - 'appearance fee?'

Hi Guys,

If any of you can shed some light on how the 'top' YouTubers are compensated for their appearances at PlayList live.

How does it work? Do they get paid more if they have more subs? Is their travel included? Does it matter what network they belong to, or what if they are independent?

Any idea of what a fee might be?

Just curious as to how it is benefitial in terms of compensation.

Look forward to hearing from you guys.

:-)

I don't think there really is any? I always thought they were just asked to attend, maybe PlaylistLIVE will cover their travel/accommodation but I don't think they get paid to be in attendance?
Or maybe paid to do a panel and then get paid travel or so.
But i don't think they were paid just to come. YouTube's not THAT far in the media business. :p Yet.

I don't think they get paid for doing anything at the event. VidCon pays for travel/accommodation for "headline" YouTuber's, but yeah, I'm not sure about being paid to be there. :P

I think you'd have to be a mega rat to say "I'd love to come meet the fans, but if I'm not getting paid to do it, f**k it"

I don't know if this was assumed or not but they get their tickets free/reimbursed. That's the only thing I know for sure.

Playlist Live, Digifest, Pop Explosion, OMG etc. are nothing but exploiting, money making ventures created by rats and snakes if you ask me. What better way to make a profit with no investment than to create an event and exploit the talented youth trying to break out. No signed artists ever perform because of this, the events are nothing but a money makers for the promoters. It appears that they troll social media to find those with alot of subscribers then they bait them in with promisses that music and industry execs will be in attendance when in actuallity is is nothing more than a room filled with screaming tween girls. From what I know there is no compensation for most of the performers instead they pay to play! Yes that is correct, performer sign an agreement to perform and PAY A FEE to do so (Playlist Live fee to perform 2-3 songs = $1,00.00)! This entire new craze (scam) involves a promoter that starts an event, charges the performers and changes the attendees! If an artist is truly interested in moving their career in the proper direction this is not the way to go. Invest your money in a agent or booking company that has personal direct contacts with industry movers and shakers and keep away from the exploiting rats with no true direct connections to the industry leaders! It is very difficult to get the information regarding fee cost to perform because they are kept confidential. A Pay to Play situation is only advisable when you are doing so to tour with a known signed band, playing large venues and arenas in a similar genre to your own. In my professional opinion Playlist Live, Digifest, Pop Explosion, OMG etc. = PAY TO PERFORM, PAY TO WATCH EQUATES TO PROFIT FOR THE PROMOTER ONLY

Not to mention how parents are letting their guard down with respect to protecting their children. Parents, if an older boy in your neighborhood was funny or played a guitar would you allow your tween daughter to become friends with him? That is what is allegedly happening at social media festivals and events. Google YouTuber Sam Pepper Hit With Sexual-Harassment Claims
