I agree first 100 is hardest.

Hell, It took me weeks to get my first 100 (which is incredibly fast). These days I get 400-500 per day.

Perhaps, but it is a bad assumption. Size indicates luck much more than skill/talent/etc. Which means YouTube search promotes lucky videos rather than quality. Sadly this is fairly true...

Yeah, I think this ^^ is a good example of what I said in my first comment: Subs > 100 doesn't mean anything on its own.
