People asking to use my videos...

I've had a few messages from people asking permission to upload some of my videos to their channel. They are generally promotion channels whos aim is to upload good videos that have little exposure...

Is it a good idea to allow this?

NO! Why do people want to upload YOUR videos to THIER channel ??It's a dumb idea. I own the rights to my videos & i'm never going to let ANYONE upload them to their channel ! Just say NO !

TIP: If they do upload your content & you don't want them to , just flag the vid for copyright

Allow them to use a snippet and tell them to put annotation to the original video?

You could give it a shot but the last few times I have allowed someone else upload my content I got nothing from it and a few of the channels have deleted my video and gone inactive.

Yeah I would have to agree. I wouldnt allow them to upload MY content.

Exactly what i'm talking about I own the rights to my vids , why would i want to let those rights fall down the trash ??

Having such a closed mind to it isn't good :<
If say Machinima (just an example, insert another well known high traffic youtube) approaches about uploading your video to their channel, would you say no? Think about the potential huge exposure

if they give you the rights to that video and promote you, yes. publicity helps you dont keep yourself in a cage

Yeah, it's pretty much pointless now. Back when community channels were popular it did help me out quite a bit but not so much any more.

For Machinma & other BIG channels, i would gladly give them rights to upload my videos Small-not well known channels … NO!
