Paying for advertisment on youtube?

YouTube advertising didn't do anything for me as far as I can tell. Something I have never seen mentioned here though, you can pay Reddit for advertising to. It is way cheap. It may or may not have gotten me a few subs along the way. I can't say for sure. I do not put money into any advertising anymore though.

I think in the long haul its better just trying to improve your videos rather than spending money on potentially nothing.
Save your money and eventually get better equipment.

I agree, Better the quality, more subs will come! and the views will come as well!

The 1st time I've used adwords was in December! I've been on YouTube for years since 2007. Though moved accounts in 2010. I decided seeing my YouTube's doing so well I'll invest some money. For me it's worked out great. I'm earning 2x the amount as before I started to use adwords.

So for a new channel 1 - 2 years old no. But for a more established channels 4+ years old yes.

If you need to pay people to watch your content, your content isn't good enough to watch. It really is as simple as that.

So is big companies and bigger YouTubers who use Adwords aren't good enough to watch then?
Adwords is just an extra arm to get you out there to a wider audience and to the wider world. Nothing bad about using Adwords. Just saying. :P

I use fanfinder, a lot of other youtubers use fanfinder.

Fanfinder is free and has given me like, 200k extra views for literally doing nothing.

You really can't compare buying advertising for a purchasable product and buying advertisements for a Let's Play video or something.

I recommend it you want some free advertising, that may or may not work for you - look up fanfinder on youtube and submit some videos to it.

I also use fan finder. Thinking of that I must refresh the videos. I haven't changed them since last summer. Though I'd promote my videos all over Twitter and places like that. The reason why I use Adwords is I find it's boosted my earnings.

Sorry for the double post, it's not allowing me to edit my original post before this.

Just wanted to add that with the popularity of Reddit etc. You really do not need to purchase advertising when you can easily get a considerable amount of views from creating a video that a subreddit/community of Reddit likes and upvotes
