Patreon - Anyone here on it? Share ideas

Hello fellow creators,
so about a week ago I started a patreon page. I just discovered it by reading one of Tims posts from VideoCreators. I was wonder what you guys think about the website, and if anyone else here has a patreon page. Honestly I thought I would get a lot of negativity for starting one, especially in my community... However it was mostly positive response :) of course there were a few "sellout" type comments, but not as much as I thought there would be.

So now my second question for those that do have a patreon. What are some tips you could share to making your page successful? for me I think its important to have lots of goals/milestones. I see a lot of patreon pages that only have a few big milestone goals like $100, $500, and then $100. I think this is a mistake. Having a lot more smaller steps makes your early patrons feel like they are actually apart of something. If your first milestone is $500 and your currently at $17, it will make someone feel like their $2 pledge is almost worthless. However if you have a milestone after every $50 then they feel like their money is really helping.

So what do you guys think?
 
I don´t have a Patreon, just because I fell like i´m a sellout if I have one, but then again, I only do Youtube as a hobby, and a reason for me to travel!
 
I personally don't have one but I think if you say exactly what you will do with that money, and how you plan to put it back into the channel, then your audience will know that you are making good use of the money and will be more likely to support you.

Patreon is like kickstarter for youtubers. Fans can pledge some money to you every month. You can then set goals and rewards to give your fans depending on how much they pledge. Thats the quick summary, definitely check their website for more details :)
 
I think it is a good option and most probably we'll join it soon. There is nothing bad to receive money if you are offering a good quality product - I checked your channel and the quality of your videos is really good!

Also I think it is best if you offer some special unlisted episodes for your patreon sponsors. They must receive something special for their money!
