Basically this Google article says that YouTube accounts or channels will be punished for violating the policy of indirect access of third party applications that subnetwork use. Subnetworks are not permitted, and it looks as though that they never were amongst other things.
I highly suggest giving it a read and request an unlink unless you want to take the hit.
