Painfully Slow Progress?

Don't stress about growth too much. Just enjoy having good interactions with your fans and enjoy making your videos. If you encourage your fans to share the videos you create and get a little creative with your advertising yourself in your spare time, you'll be fine.
Just please don't set yourselves goals; it's the single most easy way to lose your focus and motivation, two or more months of not hitting goals WILL p**s you off and will reflect in your videos(anger, desperation etc).

Another indicator of growth is views per month; while I'm closing in on 200 subscribers, I've been around the 5,000 views p/month for a while now(since Feb) and only now creeping into 6,000 p/month. So while some of you are worried about having few subscribers, you're beating me in views per month - surely it's now therefore time to encourage your viewers to hit that Sub button if they're not already doing so, or maybe adding an annotation to your vid to make it easier for them to do so? ;)

How.... Just how...?

I've never understood how people get that kind of subscriber to views ratio, is it magic? I have 50 subscribers at the moment so according to that curve I should be getting 1250 views a month, but I'm lucky if I get 300... Please unveil your secret :)

Do you guys ever just get really annoyed or restless wanting your channel to grow or have really slow growth? My channel seems to be going fine but I haven't been growing very fast. :p

Yes!! I have little to almost no growth on my channel. Maybe like one or two subs a week! Not looking good for my May Goals. I'm grateful for the subs I do have, but i would say about 80% of subs aren't active on my channel, no views, no comments...etc. I understand people are busy with school, work, their own channel, etc. to watch every single video I throw out there. But theres some subs I have that haven't been on my channel since January when I first started! Could at least say Hi once in a month...

I do grow restless, constantly checking my email, crossing my fingers and hoping I get some new subscriber, or checking my channel for more views. And most of the time I come up empty.

But...at the end of the day, I got to keep pushing myself forward, keep on improving my channel, and to not give up!

yeah my channel has those period where stats move really slow most small channels will go through it for a while until you get bigger.Ive gotten used to it now but everytime it happens i try to "re-amp" my channel so that it happens less and less in the future.

I'm ok with it starting off slow, as long as I'm putting in my best work I'm happy with it, as I know hard work and persistence pays off :) (sounds cheesy lol)

This is very well said.
That being the case however I know the feeling as I had a moment myself with wanting more people to see my work.
You know what got me out of the funk however? Drugs!!!!! Ok no :P
I went outside, filmed my vlog, talked to my buddies and voila not bad feelings anymore.
So when you're feeling super stressed or annoyed go do something unrelated to your channel and change you attitude :)

My channel has been pretty slow too, I started way back in May 2008, but that was many years ago. I only taken a hiatus due to school, life, and not having good recording equipment, etc. for almost 5 years and now that started back on the video/cover producing, everything seems very slow.

In May, I don't really see much progress on my end, so I feel ya... :(

The bigger you get the faster it is to keep growing - in terms of youtube (more people can find you the bigger you are) :D

Yeah noticed some channels tend to get subscribers here and there even through the time period of several weeks or months. I haven't even have much of an audience to be noticed so I think for smaller channels it is almost like a catch-22, well almost..

I completely agree with this. My channel although it grows at a steady rate...it just seems to drag along. after 6 months of being very adamant with my uploads i have only accumulated roughly 900 subs. It may seem like alot but in reality i only gain about 4-5 subs a day...I wish there were ways to increase this and actually see a steady increase in daily subs or views in general
