Paid Subscriptions?!

If you have a channel with more than 10,000 subs, you have the chance to make another channel that requires a monthly or yearly subscription fee.

Is this the end of free quality videos on youtube? Will big youtubers main channels only become advertisement and teasers for their paid channel?

Who knows. I mean how many people are willing to pay a monthly fee to watch a youtuber. I'm assuming with a paid subscription the videos won't (better not) have ads. This is all about commercialization and appealing to the people with legitimate businesses who want to monetize their video content.

Hmm.. I would pay for certain types of content.. i think.. in theory..

Not for stuff like random cat videos, jenna marbles or smosh.. That stuff is "just" entertainment. For us who watches it atleast.

If someone made really good reviews /tutorials / vlog type stuff on topics and things i found useful, i think i would be willing to pay for it. But not more than 2-3$ tops. And only if all old videos where available for viewing and such.

If people would do the paid subscriptions I just stop watching them. I will never pay to watch some internet videos.

It's good for movies and stuff, but not with videos. That's just plain dumb.
Though I can imagine some of the bigger YouTubers actually having a paid subscription channel.

upon further looking around, I found that this is already happening!
