Optimal amount of daily Let's Play videos?

Right at this moment I've got a tiny channel (16 subs) and 80 videos, because I have barely done any promoting yet. It's also my Summer holidays at this moment, so I have the time to record about 4 good episodes a day (if I try to do more, I fear it might make the quality of my commentary worse). But friends of mine said uploading 4 episodes a day is just too much and only drives people away from your channel, because they can't keep up with your series.

So this made me wonder, if you're a let's player, what's the optimal amount of daily videos? About 2 videos per day then? Or maybe 3 per day but all from different series (so 3 series, 1 episode per series per day)?

Of course, I know there aren't any scientific facts for this, but I was wondering if people who have experience with fairly big let's play channels know something more about this.

Thank you very much in advance.

Unless you have, I would say, perhaps over 50-100k subs, you shouldn't bother with several videos a day.
It's hard for people to keep up with them if they come out too frequent.

I say 1-2 or maybe 3 videos per week, with 16 subs 2 per day seems excessive. I wouldn't be able to keep up.

I'd say if you can make that many videos, do so, but stockpile some of them and only release one a day, two tops.

Unless you have a large audience, uploading a bunch a day isn't going to help you. I'd suggest max 2 a day, but that's still pushing it for me.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with recording 4 episodes a day, so long as you maintain your high quality. I would highly suggest NOT uploading 4 episodes a day. NO one can keep up with that many episodes a day! You have to think of it from the viewers perspective.."do I have time to watch __ number of videos in ___ amount of time?" You should try scheduled uploads. Set them to release every other day or so, to build anticipation and have a chance to promote/grow your audience!:)

So if I understand correctly, I should, right at this moment, under no circumstance upload more than two videos a day; and even two videos is right on the edge between a good amount and too much?

Thanks for your opinions. Because I have a lot of time to record/edit at the moment and I don't want too much of a buffer (like recording episodes now that'll take a month to be released) I think I'll stick with two episodes a day for the time being. Might switch that back to one when uni starts again. But I won't upload more than two videos a day anymore. Thanks guys! :]

Here's what I think: With a small amount of subs, you don't need to worry about an audience yet, just getting videos out there. Once you start to get an active audience, get back on a reasonable schedule. But for now, having a lot of videos out there is a good thing, as you'll gain lots of subscribers and find out which videos work best for you.
