One way to get Subscribers: Commenting

Over the past few months, my googly ball Harry started amassing from literally zero subscribers to 850 right now. Much of the efforts were put to commenting on other channels.

Because of the new YouTube Comment System, it provides the opportunity to gain enough recognition and exposure. There are a few side effects. Many of the same commenters appear virtually everywhere in the top comments. That includes Harry, Pressfarttocontinue. Immajeanyus, and a few others.

A few replies and likes ups the comment a huge notch. These commenters are just like everyone else, with the exception of the wittiness of the comment.

A few rules to consider based on my experiences with Harry
Do not say anything really offensive.
Do not say: Me first (happens frequently) or First
Do not say: Don't like this comment
Do not say anything disgusting.

Have fun interacting. Harry made some friends this way. :)

I need to try this and maybe one day I'll get to 100 subscribers, which it's so hard to accomplish now!
There is a lot of competition between the commenters. Harry is technically the only critic who critics on other critic's comments.[DOUBLEPOST=1408848574,1408848361][/DOUBLEPOST]
I literally break all the rules you said

And still I end up getting top comments quite a lot

It happens, but I recommend etiquette. Religous stuff and beliefs should be avoided, even if they sound disturbing and evil to you. It's too touchy there.

I am going to try this. I have a laundry list of marketing ideas and this fits well. Thanks!
Commenting is usually a hit and miss now. Usually many supporters of Harry have left for school, and that is the reason why his growth slowed. Immajeanyus hasn't been around as much as last month. So is Fart.

Youtubing should not be the primary focus if you take school. There's simply no time. I have to create a huge stockpile of films over the summer in case I don't have much time.
