One mistake you made with your channel/videos

I thought id get a thread going on a mistake you believe you have made with your channel/videos. I'm sure everyone at one point has looked back and thought why did i do that or that didn't work well. Just thinking that if we all give examples off mistakes we think we have made then we can all help each other or new people from the mistakes we have made.

One mistake i made with my old channel (2-3 years ago) Sub4Sub. It was more of a common occurrence to be asked sub4sub back then and i fell for it and in the end had 400/500 subscribers that never watched my videos so the number was pointless. I ended up getting very disheartened with the channel with subs but no views and stopped making videos. I wont make that mistake again.

I would say mine is on my old gaming channel about 3/4 years ago we started to grow quiet nicely, we had videos with thousands of views had one that had 280,000 views so we where doing okay, got up to like 800 subs and it was increasing, we got partnered back when it was more difficult to get partnered and it was going so well and i just kind of got bored of gaming (Real life work and stuff happened) and i stopped putting effort in and now the channel is redundant with 650 subs and lots of views but no activity haha.

wish i continued being consistent on that channel

Thats another thing i failed at was consistency. Im making sure i keep my channel more regularly update so far.

doing terrible end credits with way to many links and the black background and ergh... it took @ApexxWolf designing the collab credits I used for "Perish Song Panic" to realise how bad my own were haha :)

Yeh I don't sub for sub, I only subscribe to other youtubers if I have an interest in the videos they make, I might not be the first to watch but ill watch there videos at some point :D

Don't try to please everyone ! NEVER ! :/
You can never please everyone :)

Promotion early on is key i think to getting a strong fan base.

I've found there is a very, very fine line to be had for sure. Key aspect of YouTube - Audience Retention, Views, Subscribers in decreasing importance yet in truth you can't have one without the other in my opinion. Yes promotion may get you a low retention but your channel will be viewed more often, that may lead to more subscribers and therefore more dedicated viewers and so in the long run, retention increases :P
