Audio, audio, audio! Your audio is a large area of opportunity to improve; before you even improve video or anything else, you need to find a way to improve your audio. Whether that's Google'ing "improving audio on (insert camera here)" or how ever you record, I think the quickest fix to helping you improve will be fixing your audio.

Personally, i think video and audio go hand in hand.
I would find it a little strange if the audio was super crisp and the video looked really pixelated.
My brain would be struggling to figure out what was going on...
My advice: Upgrade both video and audio ASAP.
It seems like it doesnt even need to be major upgrades before it will get better!
