Not enough editing?

Hazzador

I Love YTtalk
I feel that a lack of editing in my videos does hold my channel back a bit. The answer would be do more editing, but I don't know what to add! I tend to do reviews, tips and tricks videos and discuss gaming/youtube trends too. I just record my audio and put it over some gameplay, but I feel I need to do more in the editing department in order to stand out... Any words of advice fellow youtubers?

I feel that a lot of the time it just takes practice! Tweaking your videos comes with practice. You'll start to know what to leave in, what to take out, what to trim, what to add in... it all just comes the more you do it. :)

I feel you man, just go with what you think is right.

Unless people start saying you should do more i'd say not to worry :)

Do the gameplay and vocals have anything to do with one another? I think if you have something that relates to what people are hearing (and some audio that relates to what people are seeing), that works a lot better.

Not often no. But at times the gameplay is relevant to the audio.

Watching your 1000 Subs video, you've got Battlefield 1 gameplay. Personally i feel like you should perhaps try and be a bit more intuitive and show more stuff. So for example you were talking about how videos get better etc... Show a before and after as you're talking about it instead? Show stuff on the screen that is relative to what you're actually saying.

As brutal as i may sound, i didn't want to watch your video after about 30 seconds because of this. I think your voice sounds fine and that's edited well at a nice quick pace but with Battlefield 1 gameplay (which is slow paced) going on and that's all we can see... then it was a major turn off and i lost attention.

Try and put more effort into the visual side of your content because i think the audio side to it was absolutely fine.

Hope this doesn't sound too harsh but it's just how it came across to me!

Interesting feedback mate, I appreciate it. I can completely understand what you are saying. I watched my video back and I can think of a few things I could of added, but I still think I couldn't be able to add like 2 mins of editing to it. As you mentioned about the before and after thing, I think I could add clips from other videos to mix things up a bit more. The feedback may be a little brutal, but its helped me out so thanks for that.
