I think it depends a lot upon viewer retention and engagement. I think for YouTubers just starting out still building their subscriber base, it can be a turn off for people getting to know you and your channel because they skip the video if they had to wait too long for an ad. But I think in many cases, once you have an engaged audience who care about your conent, it's quite helpful and the CPM rate is typically much higher.
