No Subscriber Interaction at all

Rae Talks

Liking YTtalk
Lately my viewers and subscribers have not been commenting, liking, etc on my videos at all. I'm fact, almost none of my subscribers even watch my videos. Its pretty discouraging. Is this normal for new channels? How can I increase interaction?

In all honesty Rae your videos are pretty good for a vlogger, by the looks of it you've only been on youtube for a year.. it takes time dude lol. I can't say much about the key of being a popular vlogger, cause I'm not a vlogger myself but I can give you some personal youtube advice on improving your content.
  • Raise your voice volume a little more & lower the music. The purpose of the vlogging is you talking, not some smooth music matching the same volume as your voice, it distracts the viewers.
  • For a beginner level I recommend aim at big topics on the web such as your latest video "Reaction to Police Brutality in Mckinney," within like two hours that video has about the same views as your pervious one.
  • Always stay consistent, and keep yourself updated for any interesting news to disgust, don't wait like the next month to talk about because it'll be dry and not juicy for the viewers to listen.
  • There are some parts in your videos that has you discussing something very personal but endup mumbling at the end. You are a great talker but be sure to pause and think if you wanna add that part in your video which has nothing to relate to the vlog.
  • Don't be afraid to express your emotions in your vloggs, as long your message can get to the viewer with facts or feelings or even better both they'll understand you with clear.
Here are some examples
Sky's audience are mainly PC gamers that plays League of Legends. He first started talking about League relatable subjects that focus on League players only. Once he had his dedicated fans, he feels comfortable to discuss about deeper topics but still in his type of personality style:

Another one is Steve, Started as a minecraft person. He's an *******, but funny and his audience like that (including me). He made a quick video about him of why he's such a d**k, he express his feeling to us viewers of why the reason we love him. Even thought there wasn't an answer to his video it still leave something for the audience to think of him and appreciate him.

So there you go thats all I gotta say. :p

Thanks for the advice! I will say that this video was very different from my others so I felt a little awkward during filming lol I'm going to check out those videos you recommended as well

You say your subscribers hardly watch your videos, are most of them regular subscribers (with hardly any subs of their own) or other smaller channels?Because some just subscribe in the hopes you will subscribe back. And those don't watch your videos... I have a few of those myself...

I think it is quote normal at first. It takes a reaaaally long time haha! But if you keep at it and stay true to yourself, people will find you!
Also, your channel link in your signature didn't work for me so i had to search your name to find you.
Hope that helps :)

I think they're mostly really subscribers who don't upload videos themselves. I'm thinking maybe they liked one of my popular videos, but aren't interested in what I talk about on a regular basis?[DOUBLEPOST=1433974238,1433974159][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks so much for telling me about the channel signature problem, and for taking the time to find my channel! I guess I'll have to use the long url for now...

Could be, but the fact that your subscribers aren't other channels is already a good thing :)

For a guy with 50 subscribers, you're doing just fine. I don't think I had any interaction worth talking about until I had about 300 subscribers. -But that's a damn good amount of views for the amount of videos you have.
