No more YouTube ads. What a great browser plugin!

Exactly, maybe this guy didn't realize what forum he was on...
This forum says it's the "#1 Community for every YouTuber", not the "#1 Community for every Monetizing Partner". Some YouTubers want advertising, some do not. The door swings both ways.

We WANT people to have ads, we WANT to watch them to SUPPORT them.
If people like ads, then you've got nothing to worry about. If people don't, then you can't stop them from closing your ad, closing your video, or using an adblocker. As a YouTube partner, you are not permitted to encourage your viewers to click your ads. Which means the majority of people will not view your ads with a conscious understanding that they are supporting you because you're broke. They will just think it's another annoying advert.

I recently reluctantly gave in to monetizing one of my videos for the sole purpose of obtaining custom thumbnails. To my understanding, you have to have a minimum of one video monetized. I didn't want to interrupt my regular viewers, so I monetized a video that was not related to my usual content. Still, I'm not sure I feel comfortable with it and might try and turn it off and see if I can still keep the custom thumbnail option.

You are thinking of YOU. and only YOU.

Well I'd like to think I'm thinking of my viewers. I try to treat them with respect by not cramming unsolicited ads down their throats with every video, and by not exploiting their loyalty for a few measly cents in a tin. If someone I subscribed to made a video saying they could use some cash to keep their channel running, then I'm definitely inclined to send a few dollars through Paypal. I would prefer that than having them spam me with ads, and chances are a $5 donation from one subscriber would be more than they make off a single video in 6 months.

I have a strong loathing for AdBlock. People who use it are effectively killing the very thing they love.

I stopped using AdBlock when I switched from Firefox to Chrome. The ads don't bother me, most of them are skippable, but I don't mind sitting through a 20 second ad.

I think our generations needs to learn a little patience.

This is a program, that blocks you from recieving the ads on OTHERS videos right? This paragraph is talking like what you said was "I don't monetize my videos and here's why!" No, you're talking about a great way to not have to see OTHER people's ads, which would cause them to not get paid right? So I'm failing to see the point of this post. If I'm gonna put ads on my video and expect people to wait on them to finish so I can make some extra money, it would be STUPID of me, to download a plugin that allowed me to skip theirs. And what you just said does not address that issue at all. If we misunderstood? explain. But the first post is right there, you're talking about a way to skip through and not see ads on other people's videos. If you are a vlogger who monetizes and you choose to download that? In my opinion? You're a jerk.

I actually use this before but i only have mines on if im recording something on youtube or some wesbite, i dont like ads to show up on my video while im recoding something of youtube or any other place. but when im not recording anything i make sure to turn it off just because i understand the reasons as to why that person has ads on his/her video, he/she is trying to make some income of that video just like i am on my channel.

ads is why alot of stuff on the internet is free... ad blockers will mean websites will charge you 5 cents each time you visit it in the future

As pointed out in the comments on that article, the more that ads become intrusive and pervasive, the more people will get annoyed and look for ways to avoid them. Most people were fine when it was just a few ads on the side. But now they've become more and more invasive. This is why smarter sites allow donations or have methods of revenue. Youtube, for instance, never really bothered me until they started those unskippable/skip after 5 seconds ads.

Those Ads you are talking about are there because more and more People started to use Adblocker or similar Tools and the Advertiser did let YouTube not really an choice in this case. The hole thing is just laughable.

People are using Adblockers because of the Ads and because of those Tools more and more Websites and YouTube too are using those nasty Ads you are disliking so much or those Pop-ups or even mixing all together. Some are even going that far that they have Hours where you are getting literally bombed with those Ads.

I am too a Part of the Problem since I`m myself using Adblock Plus for Websites & Forum (Chrome) and for YouTube & Co I`m using an (Vanilla) Firefox that shows every Ad that is there.

I`m sorry to tell you but I`m sure that everyone out there whose Ad I had watched did appreciate it in the longer Run and someone who is having like up to ten Ads on their Website is just trying to milk the Cash-Cow and I definitely will never support something like that at any time at any Moment.
