NinkComPoop and being a random YouTube channel

AmberAndGolden

I Love YTtalk
People have always told me that my channel is kind of random, I don't have any specific themes or styles that I stick to and the only thing that stays the same in my videos (apart from myself, ofc) is my outro lmfao
People have told me I wont become popular or I wont 'make it' if I keep going this way, that I NEED to find a specialism if I want to succeed in this world of the YouTube
(Obviously, It's good to have similar types of videos, not completely random videos eg. A video of you fishing then a LetsPlay then a makeup tutorial ect)
anyway, off on a tangent,
NinkComPoop is someone who doesn't have a specialism, and that really inspires me and makes me believe that even if I can't refine my ideas into a range of 4 or 5 specific kinds of video and stick to just them, that I can still succeed here!

I like that ;U;

What do you think of this, having to have a specialism, do you believe it?
Who inspires you in the youtube community?

I'm an example of somebody not gaining a lot of subs because of my extreme variety (682 subs after 8 years!), but I have over 2 million views. I guess 8 years is unfair because I've been active on YT for around 3 years, I just had 3 videos up for about a 5 year span which makes my time seem longer. For me subs are not everything and I don't plan on making a living from Youtube, but if you want subs then you should probably have some type of theme or else you'll end up like me!

I think that no matter what there needs to be some sort of consistency or people are just going to unsubscribe after a few videos.
I'm sure NinkComPoop has a running theme in at least a larger part of her videos. Maybe it's her personality or the way she approaches subjects, if not the subject matter itself. :)
So what I'm saying is, it's alright to be random and all over the place but try to find a link that connects all your videos together. Ask yourself "if a random person liked this last video, will they like the new one I put out??"

I think this is the reason so many bigger YouTubers have 3 or 4 channels. I'm currently point blank refusing to make a second channel for my vlogs because I put just as much effort into them as I did my other videos (if not more) & if my subscribers don't wanna see vlogs, they don't have to click it ;D

Yeah, I'm trying to make my channel a little more specific, I generally post beauty, vlogs(talking videos, eg. 10 things I hate about ___ ect), some food videos eg. my 'trying asian snacks' video(done one so far, but I plan to do more), speedpaints (which I will eventually create an alternative channel for) and probably a few random things here and there...
I think my channel is diverse enough to grab a few different types of peoples attention, but not too much so that each and every video is about something completely different.. Could be wrong though, who knows.. ;~;[DOUBLEPOST=1433635817,1433635739][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way, if you don't want to, don't watch! But I try to keep those videos to a minimum (or post them mid week, rather than my usual schedule) so people don't miss out on a video they wanted to see because I posted a random, irrelevant video! Hopefully that makes sense lmao

i'm the same way, i'm a gamer, a dj, a music producer, an animator / cg artist, a music fan, a movie fan, an art fan and that's not even all im into lol - what I really want to do with my channel is focus on music videos to promote my releases, but since i'm still learning animation, i end up posting more stuff like, 1 minute test animations, tutorials, I'm also a gamer, and I enjoy making videos with gta 5, space engineers, medieval engineers, then i like exploring new things to make visuals like particle effects and video effects .......i still put my music in all my videos ..so at least i kept in theme there lol i think what I'm becoming is an amusement park -turns head sideways-

Haha, Thats a lot of stuff! You might wanna split that into different channels at some point! maybe.. who knows..

eventually I might, I'm just not where I want to be yet with the music videos yet to make it a focus, once I have a few nice music videos, maybe I'll start a channel just for my label/artist. ( the original goal ) - or maybe I'll just re-brand myself as a computer artist, and promote my hot mess like "Voila" - I meant to do that!! -does wizard hands-
