For the price it isn't a bad camera.
However I would recommend you saving a tad and getting a t3i.
This is because the d3100 does not have a mic jack, so your upgrading would be limited,
also the t3i goes up to 6400 iso where as the d3100 is only 3200

Although they are quite similar any dslr without a mic jack is not worth it in my opinion.
The great thing about DSLRs is that you can always upgrade them and you can keep a standard body and get new glass and always better your quality.
So although you buy new lenses when you need better quality you won't need to buy new bodies.

However if you get the d3100 and want to upgrade you could, but there'd be a point where you'd have to get a new body because you want to get better audio.

You could sync audio in post... but it is just much easier to run a line directly to the cam.

.... wrote this before you posted your questions lol.
Get an external monitor with a wireless remote.
This way you can see if you're in focus and then use the remote to record.

Also you can swap lenses and get a better lense with a shallow depth of field so the focus is more prominent.

I already got it... I am happy because its my first but I should have saved up a little more :/ how much is an external monitor and remote?

Remotes are really cheap...I have the Nikon D5300, though mainly for photography and I got a remote for it for about £8 that literally just has a button to either start/stop recording or control the shutter.
