Newbi hero 4 help

Hi,

So I'd like to start doing vlog style videos for youtube.

I have a hero4 silver.

I have it set at 1080/30/M

It looks fine on the playback but when it import it to gopro studio it looks like turd, all chopped up, sound it out of sync etc.

I've tried changing the settings in studio but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've tried shooting in 720p also and no difference.

Is it simply down to my computer? I'm using both a MacBook and a Mac mini.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

It's probably your computer, I can shoot 4K at 30FPS on my Hero 4 and it comes out fine. It does bog down the computer once I add effects though.

That's a bummer.

Do I need an expensive computer to edit on then? I thought the macs would have been powerful enough
It depends on the program you use and some other variables. I use Cyberlink Powerdirector which takes a lot more power than GoPro Studio from my experience. I think I fried my old computer's graphic card from editing, I used to hear the fan rev up full blast when editing and rendering. My new computer seems to handle it well, but still bogs down when using effects. You may want to adjust your preview settings to something really terrible, it should still render nicely. I do this even on my new computer when doing lots of transitions and effects. This is one of the ones I had to put at terrible preview quality because it's high resolution and I did a lot of transitions, color effects, and slow motion. Try using low preview settings and render, it may turn out good.

Maybe try using a different program such as adobe premiere / final cut pro since you're on a mac and see how it goes there. There are a bunch of fixes for it, I'm sure! All you need to do is a little digging online.

Cool nice video.

I've got imovie so I'll probably try that.

However I don't think I can't take the fish eye off? Is that the case?

Sorry for the newb question, but how do I upload in less quality and then render in hd?

You don't upload in low quality, you just need to change the quality of the preview you see. I know I have that in Cyberlink, not sure about GoPro Studio. The preview may look like garbage, but it renders like normal. I'm not sure if they have the fisheye reduction in Imovie, I've never used it.

Have you tried changing the video clip properties to 'Disable Resample'? That fixes my quality. Also, when you render out the footage, does it come out looking bad still? Or just in editing?

I went round my dad's yesterday and used his iMac and it worked fine.

Are the tutorials on how to disable re sample?

Or how to lower the quality and render?
