New Vloggers Never Get Noticed

Korny

I've Got It
Pretty much, I want to share with you my opinion on why becoming a popular vlogger is so much harder than a gamer. If you have anything to add to this please do.

EDIT:
FIRST OF ALL, I DEFINE VLOGGER (IN THIS POST AT LEAST) AS SOMEONE WHO SHARES THEIR DAILY LIFE WITH THE WORLD. NOT RANTING OR TALKING ABOUT A TOPIC

SECOND OF ALL, I AM NOT A VLOGGER, I AM A SITTER-IN-FRONT-OF-CAMERA-ER.

Vloggers have it way harder. There is literally no way to get noticed, unless you use misleading titles. Just think about it - the title of your vlog is something EXCITING you did in that vlog... like eating a hot dog. So you put your vlog title as "EATING A HOT DOG" or something along those lines. Just how many people are going to be searching for Eating a Hot Dog? So little. The only views will be from you checking to see if you got any views and then being excited that you got a view but then realizing it was just you.

Now take gamers. They record a game they play and add some commentary and just put the title of the game. Unless you are playing MineCraft or CoD, your video will probably appear when someone searches for that game, and believe me, a lot more people search for that game than Eating a Hot Dog.

The only reason popular vloggers like BFvsGF are growing is because they already have a giant fan base from their pranks and they get on the front page with every single video. They also started when vlogging was not that popular. Just take a look at the titles of their last videos:

"GIRLFRIEND TOSS"
"GIRLFRIEND BODY SLAM"
"GROCERY STORE EXPLOSION"

I mean, who would even think of searching those? Barely anyone.

Now, if you sit in front of a camera and rant about a popular topic or do a funny tutorial or something (JennaMarbles) then yea, you will be noticed a lot through searching because your title would be searched a lot. But that's not what I'm talking about.

So how do you think newer vloggers can grow? If their title relates to what they did, they have almost no chance, but if they put a misleading title they will receive lots of hate. Is there no winning with this?

eh, i can agree sorta but not fully, like any genre is hard to be known in, its not depending on the genre, its depending on the person making the videos and their quality of videos, Im now gonna say something that may be frowned upon but its the honest truth, "If your not attractive(visually, audibly and mentally) , im not watching your vlogs". Gaming wise i guess audibly alone would be needed.

Gamers can be found because the game they are playing is probably something searched for. Vloggers have no chance of being found.

Well just my point here as a gamer but
It's not the viewers fault for not wanting to watch a video about eating a hotdog
It's the content creators fault for not making interesting videos.

I.e I could make a video called "Minecraft episode 1" I don't think that would get many views. But if I make a video about a brand new indie game that's up and coming I would get the views

If you want views start doing misleading names or videos about interesting topics.
If you wan to do what you want don't care about views.

I'm not gunna lie, it is slow and takes alot of time to get noticed and get subscribers, it's all about advertising, promoting, collabing, and talking to/getting to know other YouTubers. It is so dofficult, but it must be possible some how! *fingers crossed*

That's exactly what I was saying. I said

When vlogging your life, it's not very easy to be found. I don't vlog my life, I sit in front of my camera but I don't really rant or talk about a topic or talk at all really.

oh crap....if only i was a vlogger with growing views ,i could prove you wrong...WAIT...hold one gosh darn second! lol

Post a few videos that are 'relevant' to current topics, things that matter to you but also many people are likely to search up on YouTube bc they have an interest in the topic too.
This way, you are still sticking to your core values, yet once viewers have seen your current topic video and decide they like you, they may also check out your other videos that are less search-engine optimized and subscribe.
Let me know if my advice helps and good luck with your vlogging! :D

lol, but when I say vloggers I mean people who vlog their life. Like carry a camera and walk around awkwardly with it in public.

Totally disagree. I use relevant titles, thumbs, tags and descriptions and I have gained 409 subs and just under 10,000 views in about six weeks with the standard promotion that everyone else does (FB, Twitter, etc etc). Other videos/channels do not prevent you from getting views. Only you prevent yourself getting views.
