NEW to YOUTUBE....any tips to grow?

Lots:
- work hard, work smart
- excel at SEO
- make the algorithm happy by feeding it what it wants
- don't expect anything for 3-6 months because nothing will likely happen (they're trying to sort out those in it seriously they can do business with from the get-rich-quick types)
- don't do sub4sub (generally, but there are some limited exceptions), instead do relationship4relationship building with other channels your size and slightly bigger.
- learn all you can, stickies at the top are good, also do all the courses at the YouTube Creator Academy, and I mean ALL, absolutely everything you need to know to make a successful channel is on there.

Good luck!

Time and patience. If you put in enough effort than your videos will be noticed. Or you can follow the latest trend and try to get views like that way, or you can be different and have your own style.

Keep getting better. That's basically an all in one. Learn everything from SEO, to Content, Editing, Thumbnails, and so forth and so on

I'm not expert as I only have 214 subs but getting back into the game after 2 years out. I can only tell you what I have learnt from my experiences.

  • Upload Schedule - Always try stick to an upload schedule, having your audience know when you are going to upload is great. Once you start get a bit of a fan base going you'll have people like "Oh Lupo's uploading at X o'clock"
  • Optimism - linking with the upload schedule, don't be too optimistic with your schedule. Daily upload are fine but do you have the time to commit to this? If you have school, college, university, job whatever it may be, you should probably lessen your upload amount. For example, I work full time Monday to Friday. My new schedule is going to be weekly on a Monday at 7pm. This will give me a full weekend to make a video, edit the video and make sure its the highest quality possible without being rushed.
  • Networking - Great start, you're here! Interacting with other YouTuber's that are a similar size to yourself if a great way of gaining views, subs and more importantly, friends and working relationships. When I first did youtube there was a group of us who networking together and we all watched each other grow, however I didn't put in the grind I should have.
  • Watch videos - Another big way of growing is to watch other youtube videos that are similar to the content that you post. Comment on those videos to get your name out there. When I say comment I don't mean stuff like "Hey, this guys rubbish, sub to me instead I'm the second coming..." << no. Instead, encourage that person; "yo man, great video I liked such and such a part. I also do videos like this, if you get the time give me some tips?". Another thing is don't go to big channels and try to shout in the crowd. 9 times out of 10 this will get you no where.
  • Interact with your audience - When you're making your videos encourage viewer interaction. let your audience decide on certain things if possible. So let's say you're doing a creative minecraft series, like a lets play. Say to your audience, "let me know if the comments what I should do next time. should WE do this, or should WE do that".

There's just a couple of points I've learnt in the past, I'm no expert but thought I would try to lend my hand. If you want more help gimme a shout on here or on twitter..I don't bite!

My old account had 700 subs but my adsense got banned so I had to start over but imo to grow fast you just gotta do what you enjoy! nobody likes to watch people looking depressed in their videos! also try talking or basing your videos around trending topics! that will definitely get you noticed!
