New Monetization Suspension Policy

I honestly think this policy is there to eliminate those people who upload a ton of copied/illegal videos or something like that and try to hide behind a MCN.

Interesting. It always made me a little uneasy that a channel could get 3 strikes in one day and suspended without a period of time to dispute and resolve.

Wait, according to the article it's coming to MCNs so that means if you're on AdSense and you get 3 strikes you still had a chance to resolve it within 40days or is it completely new?

Basically it worked like this.

When you were with an MCN in the past, no matter if you had 1-2-3 strikes, as long as your account wasn't suspended you'd still continue to earn revenue from the other videos.

In contrast if you were not under an MCN, and got a strike for whatever, it was very possible that youtube would then instantly suspend your monetization (check google product forums, there's endless ammounts of pages of users trying to get their monetiation reactivated, even though without any video strikes).

Under an MCN you were immune to this problem, but now that it's being rolled out you are susceptible to loose monetization after one strike because the system determines for whatever reasons that your content may be stolen/fraudulent/whatevr.

From what I'm understanding the rules are if you get 3 strikes you have 40 days to resolve the strikes or you'll get a 6 month ban from editing?

I'm hoping that the new policy will affect the non MCN users as well and instead of loosing your monetization outright you get he 40 days to fix it prompt.

While I am not very susceptible to copyright complaints, they do still occur.

I hope that they also implement this policy with community guidelines violations as well.

Yea I do like the communication vs instant deletion upgrade. Should at least free up the product forums from unknown bans.
