New Minecraft Channel

I actually got the nice "Blue Snowball" mic suggested by Donutz :). How about you?

Nice, I've heard plenty of great sound from that mic on YouTube. I got the Blue Yeti (not the Pro version) since it seemed like a good price on Amazon. I've tried it out briefly but just this evening will be the first time I've recorded an actual LP with it. My only issue so far is how incredibly sensitive it is to any room noise or vibration.

Is it one of those mics that records everything around it as opposed to directly in front of it? I know at least with the Blue Snowball, it has the option to switch between recording all around it, and directly in front of it. Link me up with a video once you get it out, I'm curious about how the quality turns out :).

No it has a selector for a cardioid pattern, which I have it set to. The main source of background noise for me is vibration through my desk, since the stand that comes with the Yeti doesn't really isolate the mic at all. It's a noticeable difference if I simply pick it up, but for practical positioning I'm just going to put it where I need to and run the audio through a noise filter in Audacity afterwards. I just got done recording a ton tonight so hopefully it'll work out fairly well.

Very nice I'm glad to hear it, good luck on release :).

Looks like everyone else has hit all the salient points, so I'll just limit myself to commenting on the video itself. Not a bad first step into the world of Minecraft.

Good luck in your endeavors, I made sure to subscribe! I love watching and playing minecraft, and it is hard to get videos noticed for it, especially when you have people like Tobuscus playing it. I made a few and have like... 10 views, lol.
